San Diego’s Best of Weddings

May 6, 2008 by 2photography

I wasn’t going to write this post because it seemed like too self promoting, but a friend said I had to and my marketing guru agreed, so here it is, in the most humble way possible. ;)

I received a phone call from Brianna at The Knot Wedding pages magazine early last month. Brianna told me I had won “Best of San Diego Wedding Photographer”. I was very pleased about the news!!! I didn’t even know the magazine did that. (apparently they do it in one issue every year.)

She told me that they had polled brides from all over San Diego and I was voted #1!! I am very flattered and excited to get this great award.

Thank you all that supported me last year and to my Brides that voted, “you guys rock!”

I am so happy that my clients love there pictures. I work very hard to make sure everyone gets a special set of photographs of the most important day of there lives. Thank you all so much for making my dream career so possible.

That is all for my shameless self promotion blog

Up & coming San Diego Wedding Photographer

April 29, 2008 by 2photography

Today 2photography welcomes the beautiful Rosemarie Mariani to the team!

Rosemarie or “Rosie” as I like to call her got her first lesson in the photographic arts yesterday and she is a natural. She will soon supersede me and then start on her plans for world domination.

Rosie said she wanted to learn photography and start assisting me at weddings, so I happily accepted the challenge (which turned out to be no challenge at all) Rosie was very quick to pick up on techniques and showed great creative promise.

We started by walking from little Italy to the waterfront. Rosie took some impressive pictures of some cars.

I then explained the idea behind depth of field and composition and she took to it like a pro. Rosie got come great shots of a cruise ship.

We got some lunch at a Greek cafe in Seaport Village and snapped this photo while waiting for our food.

Now here is something to know about Rosie. SHE LOVES GOOD FOOD! I had to capitalise that because it’s so very true. The way to her heart is defiantly though crab cakes and a decadent dessert!

We finished up our Greek and started to head back. Rosie got some cool pics of the sky and some buildings.

We found a great little spot by an abandoned warehouse to shoot some portraits. We took turns shooting each other and I taught Rosie some model poses and techniques.

We decided that we wanted to take some pictures of the sunset, so we walked back to my house and changed into some clean clothes.

At 6:30 we headed to blacks beach to photograph the sunset and some surfers. Rosie was jealous of them, because the surf was perfect yesterday and she is an avid surfer.

We snapped some shots of the sunset and I made Rosie pose for some cute beach pictures. She also got a great silhouette of me. The sunset was so beautiful.

That concludes Rosie’s induction day and I think she will be a great addition to 2 Photography.

San Diego Chargers Tryouts

April 15, 2008 by 2photography

Earlier this month I was contacted by Jenn. She needed to do a shoot for her application for the San Diego Chargers. She wanted to do some beach attire and a couple of studio shots.

We decided to start in Ocean Beach at a little hidden cove I know of. Matt Odgers, a good friend of mine came along for the shoot. Matt is a new photography enthusiast. He just got himself a Canon 40D and was excited to use it. Matt works at a Law firm full time and at the Bitter End Bar as a doorman on the weekends.

Jenn was late for the shoot, because she got caught up at Mac. (I don’t recommend that you have your make up done at Mac, they tend to go a little over the top with cover up and always take way too long. If you can have a friend do it it’s better (as long as your friend knows what he/she is doing).

We got some great shots at the cove and headed out to the studio. I went with the yellow back drop for Jenn and it looked great with her skin tone. We finished up outside on this funky old beetle that happened to be parked outside the studio.

Jenn submitted her app on Sunday and we are waiting on the results….GOOD LUCK JENN!!!

2 Photography San Diego Wedding Photography now blogging

Well….here it is! everyone said I had to start blogging, that the coolest of the cool blog and I wouldn’t be cool if I didn’t.

I’m going to start by saying, “I will do my best to spell check every blog before it is posted”, however I am the worst speller this side of …… umm… well just everywhere.  So there it is, my big disclaimer about my horrific spelling.
I guess the big news is my new website. It has been completely revamped and is ready for viewing. I went with a more simple design this time and one that would have a larger gallery to show off my spectacular work (shameless self promotion) ;)
Also… Jeffrey Andersen Photography is now going to be offering head shots in L.A. We will be spending a lot more time up there in the next few months, so here we come…set your dates and get ready to look fabulous! (I never use the word fabulous, but I think the L.A is rubbing off already)
Till next blog
